Happy New Year 2020
Christmas and the New Year
So here we are just a few short days away from Christmas and of course the New Year.
Now how many of you have already started to think about 2020? Have you already thought ahead to what the New Year may be going to hold for you – your work, your love life, your family, health or finances? And of course, what about those New Year resolutions?
Popular Resolutions
According to “Psychologies” the lifestyle magazine, 71% of 2000 people they questioned (in 2013) had already maderesolutions by the end of October. The most popular resolution (52%) was “I want to lose weight” according to The Huffington Post.
Health related issues always seem to figure highly in the resolution charts and resolutions for the year, 2013, were no different according to LA Fitness with the following featuring in their resolution Top 40 – Lose weight, get a six-pack, Eat less chocolate, Drink less alcohol, Quit smoking, Run a half or full marathon.
The Day for Giving Up!
About 450 of the 2000 people surveyed however admitted to having given up on their plans during January when having made resolutions in the past. In fact, according to “Days of the Year” January 17th seems to be the most popular day for resolution abandonment
Our Suggestions
But are resolutions good for us? They are supposed to be promises to ourselves of things we are going to change in our lives but end up being a bit of a joke and instead of filling us with empowerment and determination, it seems that a lot of us fall fowl of improper planning and then the despondency of failure when we haven’t got the correct tools to fulfill our goal! So this year here are our suggestions for some New Year Resolutions you might like to try –
1/ Watch more cute kitten and puppy video’s on YouTube
2/ Start smoking to help you lose weight
3/ Subscribe to a movie provider so you never have to read a book again (lets face it if it wasn’t made into a film was it really worth reading anyway?)
4/ Continue to write “2019” for as long as you can get away with it
5/ Resolve to be more ECO friendly save water and ALWAYS shower with a friend
6/ Continue wearing clothes one size too small
7/ Stop Tweeting start texting
8/ Stop texting start phoning
9/ Stop phoning start visiting
10/ Resolve to lose just enough weight so your tummy stops wobbling when you clean your teeth
11/ you will always balance the company books, probably on your head but with practice on one finger
12/ If you must make a resolution make it HD
If you have any resolutions that you would like to add to our list we would love to hear from you on our Facebook page.
And so all that is left to say for now is Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year from us all at HomeStore Self Storage.
