Packing tips

Whether you’re packing your belongings for long or short term storage, you’ll want to be sure that your precious possessions are packed and wrapped safely and securely.

Even though all our storage units are clean and dry, we recommend you use cardboard boxes for short term storage, and perhaps consider using plastic ones for the longer term.

In addition to holding your belongings, we sell everything you might need for protecting your goods while moving and storing them. Boxes, bubble wrap, sticky tape etc.

Make sure every box/piece is somehow labeled with your last name. Be sure to tape all of the seams of the cartons ( top, bottom and side). So that cartons do not collapse be sure they are filled to the top, using packing materials to fill any unused spaces and voids. We do not recommend using printed newspaper as this can mark your goods.

Be sure that you pack all cartons tightly and that your furniture is well wrapped for full protection during the duration of its storage. We suggest covering all furniture with furniture covers or blankets.

Books can get heavy, so it is best to pack them in smaller cartons. Clothes: Dresses, suits, jackets and coats can be packed into hanging wardrobe boxes. Other items should be folded in large cartons or put in suitcases.
